Not all of Sri Lanka's finest teas come from vast plantations. Farmers Brew begins in small tea gardens, where local farmers cultivate their own tea plants and handpick the young leaves for processing.
Buddika works closely with these growers, helping them produce higher-value artisan teas rather than selling their harvest solely into the conventional bulk tea market. The leaves are brought to his small tea-making facility, where they are carefully withered, rolled, oxidised, and dried.
The result is a rounded, approachable black tea with a full yet smooth body. Expect warming liquorice notes, ripe red fruit, and a gentle sweetness, without an overly harsh or astringent finish.
Unlike the wild teas harvested from the towering trees of Warnagala, Farmers Brew comes from cultivated tea plants grown by local farming families. It shares the same wider landscape and commitment to small-scale production while offering an accessible tea for everyday drinking.
